Install Hyprcore
Hyprcore is a native macOS app, signed and notarized by Apple. Auto-updates are enabled by default, so you only have to install it once.
Download
Get the installer
Visit hyprcore.ai/download. The site detects whether you're on Apple Silicon or Intel and offers the right build.
Open the DMG
Drag Hyprcore.app to your Applications folder.
Launch Hyprcore
Open Hyprcore from Applications. macOS may ask you to confirm the first launch—click Open.
Tip: Prefer Homebrew?
brew install --cask hyprcoreonce we publish to the official tap. Until then, use the DMG from the website.
Grant permissions
Hyprcore requests four macOS permissions. The onboarding flow walks you through each one. If you skip any, you can grant them later in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Permission | Why Hyprcore needs it | Required for |
|---|---|---|
Accessibility | Paste transcribed text into the app you were using, and detect your global dictation shortcut. | Dictation |
Microphone | Capture your voice for transcription. | Dictation, meetings |
System Audio | Capture meeting audio from other apps. | Meetings |
Screen Recording | Record screen video during meetings. Optional—audio-only recording works without it. | Meetings (video) |
Note: Hyprcore uses Accessibility for global keyboard shortcuts—there is no separate "Input Monitoring" permission.
Warning: After granting any permission, quit and relaunch Hyprcore. macOS only re-reads permissions on app start.
Onboarding
The first time you launch, Hyprcore guides you through three steps:
Setup. A short welcome, the macOS permission prompts, and a telemetry choice.
Pick a dictation model. Parakeet V3 is recommended—it runs on CPU, auto-detects language, and is ~5× real-time on a recent Mac.
Sign in. Link your Hyprcore Cloud account (required on every plan, including Free).
That's it—you land ready to dictate. Your meeting model isn't part of onboarding; Hyprcore downloads it just in time the first time you record a meeting. The dictation shortcut ships with a sensible default, which you can change any time in Settings → Dictation.
Hyprcore requires a Hyprcore Cloud account, even on the Free plan. Onboarding sends you to app.hyprcore.ai to sign in or create one. Once you do, your desktop app is linked to the account and you can start using dictation and meetings.
What signing in lets you do:
Use any Hyprcore feature (Free or paid)
Cloud sync across multiple Macs (Pro and Team)
AI summaries powered by Hyprcore Cloud tokens
Shareable meeting links (Pro and Team)
MCP integrations and the Knowledge Base (Pro and Team)
Team seats and shared storage (Team)
Local-first still applies: your audio and transcripts stay on your Mac. Signing in proves who you are, not what you've recorded. See Sign in for the full flow.
Platform support
Hyprcore is macOS only—Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and Intel Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or later. There is no Windows or Linux build.
