Connectors

Connectors are the accounts your routines and chat sessions can reach — Gmail, Outlook mail, Notion, and web search. A routine can read the thread you need before a call, or leave a follow-up in your drafts for you to read.

Nothing connects itself, and nothing can write anywhere until you say so.

Connectors are available on every plan, including Free. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of connector calls; see Plans and billing for yours.

Calendar connections are separate and live in Settings → Calendar — see the Calendar article.

Connect an account

Open Settings → Connectors. You will need to be signed in to Hyprcore.

Click Connect on the connector you want. Hyprcore opens your browser to authorize the account, and you are returned to the app when it is done. Each connected row then shows its status: Connected, Needs reauth, or Available for ones you have not set up.

Some connectors use an API key rather than a browser sign-in. Paste the key when prompted — Hyprcore forgets it immediately and no routine depends on Hyprcore holding it. Credentials for connected accounts are held by Composio, our connector provider, and are never stored in Hyprcore.

What a connection can actually do

The panel describes each connection by what it can do, in plain words — read your mail, draft replies, send mail — rather than by OAuth scope. A scope string is a fact about a grant. It is not an answer to "what can this reach", which is the only question anyone opens the panel to ask.

Capabilities are split into reads and writes, and the split is decided by hand rather than guessed from a tool's name. Anything unrecognised — including a tool the provider adds after a Hyprcore release — counts as a write until someone has reviewed it. Getting that backwards in one direction is a security problem; getting it backwards in the other costs you one approval prompt. We chose the direction that costs you a prompt.

Limits

You can narrow what a connector may reach — for example, restricting it to a label or a date range. The limit is applied to the request itself, before it leaves your Mac. It is not a preference the model is asked to respect.

Limits default to on. The narrower grant is the safer one to be wrong about.

Using a connector in a routine

Once connected, the connector's tools appear in the Tools list in the routine editor. A routine only gets the tools you tick.

What a routine may do with them is controlled by the routine's own access setting, not by the connection:

• Read only — it can look, and nothing more.

• Approval — it prepares a write and waits for your yes.

• Autonomous — it acts and tells you after.

So a connected Gmail account does not mean anything can send mail. A read-only routine with Gmail connected can read threads and never send.

You can also allow a connector in chat, separately from routines.

Usage

The Usage tab shows tool calls made on your behalf, by connector and by routine, over the last 7 or 30 days — counted from the traces of every routine run and chat session on this Mac. A routine quietly working through your allowance shows up here rather than being deduced from a bill.

Your remaining allowance is on the billing page, as Connector Calls. On a team, an admin can also set a per-member cap.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect on any account. Hyprcore tells you what it will break first — "Disconnecting pauses 2 of 3 routines that use it" — so you are not guessing.

Reconnecting later works normally; a reconnect does not create a duplicate account.

Troubleshooting

A routine says it cannot run. It needs an account you have not connected, or the connection needs reauthorizing. The routine's row will say which.

An account shows Needs reauth. Access expired or was revoked at the provider. Click Reconnect.

Runs are failing partway through. Check whether you have spent your monthly connector-call allowance. When it is gone, calls are refused until the 1st of the next month.
