1

Open the recorder

Click the Hyprcore pill at the bottom of your screen, or press your meetings shortcut. The pill expands into the meeting recorder.
2

Pick what to capture

Choose Mic + system audio (default), Mic only, or System audio only. Toggle screen recording if you want video too.
3

Pick a meeting template

Templates control how the summary is written. Pick one from the dropdown—Default, Standup, 1:1, Customer call, Interview, or any custom template you’ve made.
4

Click Start

The pill collapses and starts recording. A pulsing red indicator shows the call is live.
5

Take notes (optional)

Click the pill to expand it again. The Notes tab is where you can type alongside the transcript. Notes auto-save.
6

Click Stop

Hyprcore stops capture, finishes transcription, generates the summary, and saves the session as a vault page. You’re taken straight to it.

Capture modes

Open Settings → Meetings → Capture mode to set the default. You can override per-meeting from the recorder.
ModeRecordsUse it for
Mic + system audio (Dual)Your voice + everything on your speakersStandard calls, podcasts, interviews
Mic onlyYour voiceVoice memos, in-person meetings (use a USB or AirPods mic)
System audio onlyWhatever your Mac is playingYouTube, podcasts, calls where you don’t speak
In-person meetings work too. Put the laptop near the table, set capture to Mic only, and Hyprcore picks up the room. Quality scales with your microphone.

Video quality

QualityResolutionFrame rateApprox. size per hour
Low0.5× native10 fps~600 MB
Medium0.75× native15 fps~900 MB (default)
HighNative30 fps~3 GB
Pick Low if you only care about audio and want a small file. Pick High if you’ll be sharing the recording or scrubbing through screen content frame by frame.

Pause and resume

Click pause on the recorder pill to stop capturing without ending the session. The transcript freezes and resumes when you hit play. Useful for off-the-record asides or quick breaks.

Cancel a meeting

Click the X on the recorder. Hyprcore prompts you to confirm and discards everything—no transcript, no recording, no vault page.

Where the files live

While recording, audio and video stream to:
~/Library/Application Support/ai.hyprcore.desktop/recordings/<session-id>/
After the meeting ends, the metadata is committed to meetings.db and the page appears in your vault. If you’re signed in and have Cloud Sync turned on, the metadata syncs immediately. Audio and video files only sync if Sync audio is enabled in Settings → Sync—those are large.
